Goodbye Blogspot, hello website! // Adiós Blogspot, ¡hola página web!

 Three years ago I wrote my first post on Blogspot. I wanted to to upload my creative journey: the patterns I was knitting, things I was sewing, and my own creations, while working on my full time job, Casa California. We were closed for many months during the pandemic which gave me lots of time to figure out what was going to happen with the business, my life in general, and my crafty self. I delved deeper into knitting design, and months later I published my first "pro" design in Revista La Hebra (my second design with them will be coming out their third edition, woot woot!). I'm super exited about it.

So it's kind of the end of an era. I turned 41, put my ideas out into the world and moved from my cute blogspot to AlicantaKnits.com (shoutout to my sister Cali for helping me with the site and photos). The name Alicanta has been my writing pseudonym for many years, just my name's letters in a different order (the full version is Alicanta Atari, a bit much, I know). Things you'll find here:

• Experiences with other techniques and crafts (mostly sewing, the love I fear!)
• Knits, mostly sample garments.
• Pattern reviews.
• Tips and tricks in videos and tutorials to go along with the techniques you'll find in my patterns.

Hace tres años escribí mi primer post en Blogspot. Quería subir mi experiencia creativa: los patrones que tejo, las cosas que coso, y mis propias creaciones, mientras trabajaba en mi proyecto a tiempo completo: Casa California. Tuvimos que cerrar muchos meses durante la pandemia, tiempo en el que tuve mucho tiempo para decidir qué pasaría con nuestra pequeña empresa, mi vida en general, y mi yo artesana. Me metí más en el mundo del diseño y meses después publiqué mi primer diseño "oficial" en Revista La Hebra (pronto aparecerá un segundo diseño mío en la tercera edición... ¡yupiiii!), me tiene muy contenta.

Así que ha sido el fin de una era: cumplí 41, solté ideas al mundo y me fui de mi humilde blogsito para llegar acá, a AlicantaKnits.com (gracias a mi hermana Cali por ayudarme con la página y las fotos). El nombre Alicanta ha sido mi pseudónimo literario por muchos años, es simplemente las letras de mi nombre en orden distinto (el pesudónimo completo es Alicanta Atari, un poco mucho, lo sé). Cosas que encontrarás aquí:

• Mis diseños de tejido (y los enlaces a las publicaciones donde puedes encontrarlos)
• Mi experiencia con otras técnicas y manualidades (principalmente la costura, mi amor al que le tengo miedo)
• Tejidos a la venta (muestras, en su mayoría).
